In his presentations and his interactions with parents on campus, it is apparent that Dane has worked hard to blend his unique roles in and connections to higher education to reach a broad audience of parents.  Dane has the understanding of a parent, the know-how of a college administrator, the gentleness of a sage, and the scholarship of a professor that all work together to give parents the sense that this guy really knows what he’s talking about.  And he does.

  1. Dane,

Love what you are doing to help students, parents and universities alike. And I esspecially love what you are doing with your spiritual formation consulting (a much needed area of expertise for a lot of organizations).

During my senior year of college I too felt drawn to do something to help others navigate college. I ended up having the opportunity to write a book with a friend that highlights what we think are the 7 defining big ideas of college. I would love to get a copy of it in your hands. I really think it could be a great resource for your students as they navigate their way through college. I think Collegiate is really relevant for 3 reasons.

#1 the book is that it was written while we were still in college ourselves (only 2 years ago)
#2 It is written from a Christian worldview and perspective
#3 nearly every college student that has read it has track us down via social media or text to tell us how much it has helped them navigate college.

Anyways, I really hope that you find it to be a great resource to pass along to your readers. Let me know if you want to connect further about it!
